Tellis Pharmacy has been in business at 125 King Street for about 60 years and today it closed its doors for the last time. The Tellis sisters were describing to me today the vibrant community that they remember in years gone by; the grocery store, typewriter shop, laundromat, furniture store, and all the shop-owners living abpve. I guess you can’t stop “progress”, although the progress that all but destroyed pedestrian traffic in this block of King Street is something of an anomaly. The downstairs part of the building (circa. 1887) is now available for lease.
